Extra's Path To Demon King

Chapter 550: All the Battles…

Chapter 550: All the Battles…

Wangnan roared, "Augment the demonic energy...."The moment he said that, the potency of his demonic energy’s encroachment became strong enough to even corrupt and devour the Golden attribute of Lucien’s aura.

Wangnan began to struggle and fight back like a madman; the demonic energy was powerful, but it was also a double-edged sword.

Due to its chaotic nature, even naturally born demons would often lose themselves to the demonic nature. Unable to think straight or use their powers in an intelligent way as they were supposed to.

Wangnan barely managed to hold on to his sanity, and then another part of the accumulated Dread augmented his Mind attribute.

With the constant battles in the skies, especially the Valkyrie being pushed back nonstop by Osiris, the Dread in the hearts of the mighty third-phase seekers on the human side arose again; thus, the Dread Parasite manifested in their hearts once more.

A battlefield like this was basically a cheat code for Wangnan’s demonic ability; he could constantly plant, grow, and harvest Dread parasites, thereby repeatedly augmenting himself.

Once the Corrupted Elf augmented his Demonic Energy and Mind stat, the next time he relocated all the Dread Parasites was not onto himself; rather, he shoved it all down into Lucien’s heart.

Lucien’s hands trembled right as he was about to attack again; countless negative thoughts, as if whispered by his own subconscious, rattled his mind, making him uncertain.

Making him stumble over his steps, those words and whispers that manipulated his very thoughts were so insidious that even Lucien remained oblivious to them for a while as they clashed once more.

So, Wangnan continued to use his advantage to its fullest. Augmenting himself and then drowning Lucien in the clutch of negativity, alternating between these two repeatedly.

But Lucien, possessing the Golden Dragon’s bloodline, also had his own quirks when faced with mind-based attacks; through his sheer will, he held on and kept fighting the Corrupted Elf.

This created a subtle balance between the two combatants, but the scale gradually tipped in Wangnan’s favor as time passed.

Zena Karmann fought on against Thorian Blackvale, the arcane adapter. The prince’s Energy Adaptation had further evolved, now being able to counter an even wider range of enemy abilities, and faster as well.

And since Thorian now knew how Zena’s Demonic ability worked, he remained cautious despite his uncontrollable hatred and desire to kill the enemy before him.

But it was not only Thorian who advanced; Zena had also advanced, and her bloodline had grown slightly purer.

As she was a late-third-phase seeker with the demon bloodline.

How could she not overpower the Blackvale prince, no matter what countermeasures he possessed? All Zena needed were seven physical contacts, and her enemy would be doomed.

Of course, this condition only held for those who had a lower phase than her own; for those who were equal to her in phase and stage, Zena would need more than double the number, 14+ physical contacts, with a 30% chance of it not working completely.

As for those in a higher phase than her own, Zena needed at least 28 physical contacts, and even then, there was a 70% chance it wouldn’t work.

But Axel had assured her that her ability would continue to grow as her bloodline became purer.

Zena, without holding back, used her every chance and power to try to kill the Blackvale Prince.

Still, the bastard seemed to have learned his lesson and surrounded himself with an impenetrable elastic form of energy that did not permit any form of physical attack to reach Thorain’s body.

Even in an extremely gruesome state, the Arcane Adapter continued to hold on and adapt, just like his own relentless and indomitable attribute that would never fail to move forward.

Enrick Samartan had summoned three powerful otherworldly beings on his side, all exuding power equivalent to the third phase and beyond.

He was being held back by the four royal heirs of the minor kingdoms, who were all at mid-2nd phase.

The Transcendent Conjurer was facing Conner Ravenspire himself, despite the Raven prince being a major phase lower than him. The bastard’s demonic ability was extremely insidious; this made him furious to no end.

He could see clearly from the corner of his eyes Wangnan Baek, the demon bastard who killed his sister, fighting off against Lucien; Enrick’s hatred knew no bounds when it came to the Corrupted Elf.

He had long resolved himself to kill Wangnan Baek, who trampled on him so thoroughly, but seeing that monster’s true power, how he could fight off against Lucien on an equal footing, made him shocked, even though it should have been expected, considering Wangnan could chain down his strongest summon Fenrir.

Enrick’s expression turned into a hideous grimace, all of his accumulated negative emotions now directed towards the Raven prince, for not being able to kill Wangnan, for not having the power to kill Wangnan Baek.

But the more enraged Enrick became, the more insidious became the effects of Conner’s demonic ability, which was called the False Probability.

Conner grinned, seeing the Transcendent Conjurer become even more vicious in his attacks; what Conner’s demonic ability did was to flood the mind of his enemy with constant visions of each moment that could have gone wrong, yet it did not in reality.

Enrick was seeing constant visions of every move he could have made wrong the moment he performed it. This constantly broke his rhythm of battle.

Eventually, due to this constant flood of false visions, Enrick’s own mind, at one point, started to generate the negative probabilities; thus, his focus was torn in two, juggling between reality and the false visions, growing more chaotic by the second.

Because of this trick, Enrick was making false decisions and missing attacks that should have landed; meanwhile, his enemy kept injuring him more and more.

The Transcendent Conjurer saw that he could not continue like this; even his three other summons were not faring well against the three other royal heirs.

Taking a brutal attack on his stomach, Enrick held back Conner for a few seconds, enough time to call back his conjurations. He summoned a different set of conjurations, with powers that may be able to counter the demonic royal heirs.

Not only that, Enrick had been holding back on his core ability, the ability of Conjurer assimilation, so that he could use it when push comes to shove, or maybe to ambush Wangnan Baek on the off chance, once Lucien pushed the Corrupted Elf to the edge.

But seeing that he was actually close to losing his life here at the hands of these minor kingdom’s prince and princess, there was no other choice but to use it.

So, he did exactly that, summoning and assimilating a different set of conjurations onto himself. That finally gave him the capacity to block off the mind-twisting influence of Conner Ravenspire’s demonic ability.

Zen Karmann, the untalented, useless younger brother of Zena Karmann, the Sin Amplifier, fought against Jaden Redmar, the Genius Strategist who wielded the rare attribute of Extreme Control.

In their last clash, Zen had been close to losing, unable to properly contend against Jaden’s superior Battle IQ on the go, succumbing to his genius attacks or movements.

But this time he was very different from before; he had advanced to the third phase and become a partial demon, though unfortunately he had not yet gained his demonic ability.

But the Lord of the Demonic Armada had been extremely displeased with him, the fact of which did not need to be any more stressed than it already was.

After all, compared to Wangnan Baek, who was also just a third-phase seeker, the difference between him and the Corrupted Elf could not be any greater.

For those reasons, Zen felt like a scythe had been hanging on his neck, held inches away from his throat by the Demon of Despair.

There was no room for failure, considering the warnings his sister had given him. He had to win and kill Jaden Redmar, or at least do his best to... No, he had to do more than his best, even if it meant he would die.

Zen could not be any more complacent; he thought his life would be fine now that he had become the rightful heir to the Karmann duchy; his powerful Duke of a father had been rendered politically ineffective and was unable to do anything to him and his sister.

But it seems his life of struggle and pain had only begun; now he had to fight with even more fervor to survive the clutches of Osiris, dancing to his tune to the best of his ability.

With a vicious beastly growl, Zen pressed forward, uncaring of the deadly and precise wounds delivered by the genius strategist.

And the named heir of the Karmann Duchy had long been prepared for this, thinking of all the possibilities and how to take down this person who had been dubbed a true genius mind even by the words of Osiris.

Zen found that he could not beat Jaden in terms of intelligence, battle prowess, abilities, or even ambush tactics.

Pretty much in every category, he remained the most inferior compared to all the key players on both the human and demon side.

So, what could he do?

The only thing the Redmar Heir would not be able to match was Zen’s ruthlessness towards himself.

Zen would introduce the only factor Jaden Redmar would not be able to handle or control in any manner.

So, with immense resolve, Zen Karmann completely gave himself up to his chaotic demonic nature.

Letting his inner demon out, his demonic self that was without control or any chain of morality or concept binding it, only that side of himself could hope to win and kill his enemy.
