Chapter 472 - 471: Did You Do It on Purpose?
"I know," Bella shook her head.
The fact that Archer Quinn was injured is bound to delay a lot of work. This directly leads to economic loss for the agency, so it’s perfectly normal for Brother Sutton, Archer’s agent, to say something to her.
The assistant saw that she really wasn’t bothered by it and breathed a sigh of relief. Thinking that if Bella felt like a burden to Brother Quinn and started avoiding him, Brother Quinn would truly be depressed.
Just then, the door to the hospital room opened, and the nurse came in to help move Archer Quinn to a different room. Bella and the others assisted in the process.
Once the room transfer was completed, the police officer handling the incident arrived with the owner of the vehicle involved in the accident.
A police officer entered the room and said, "This is the phone we found at the scene. Take a look and see if it’s yours."
Bella took a look and indeed it was her phone.
"This is my phone," Bella stepped forward and unlocked the phone with her fingerprint, under the watchful eyes of others.
The police officer glanced at it, confirmed the phone was indeed hers, and returned to the business at hand, saying, "The vehicle owner was driving under the influence. We will handle this according to the law. As for compensation, do you want to go through legal procedures or settle it privately? We have brought the vehicle owner here, and they’re outside."
Bella said, "Officer, my friend hasn’t woken up yet. Can we go out and talk?"
"Alright."
The assistant stayed inside watching Archer Quinn, while Bella and the police officer left the room.
In the corridor, another police officer was waiting outside holding Vivian Norris by the arm.
As soon as Bella came out of the room, she saw Vivian Norris and immediately frowned, "Vivian Norris!"
"Bella Acker? The person I hit is you?" Vivian Norris was a bit surprised, she really didn’t expect this coincidence, her first car accident victim turned out to be Bella Acker.
It seems these two are truly at odds by fate.
"Did you do it on purpose?" Bella suddenly asked.
It’s understandable that she would think this way. After all, Vivian Norris hates her so much, and it’s Bella who caused Vivian Norris to completely lose her career. With alcohol in her system, it’s possible Vivian Norris saw her crossing the street and impulsively hit the gas to run her over.
The police officer frowned upon hearing this, "You know each other?" If Vivian Norris intentionally directed the car onto the sidewalk to hit someone, it would be considered attempted murder.
Vivian Norris’s alcohol buzz had long worn off, and she knew if she didn’t explain, she might face heavier penalties. She immediately said, "Officer, we’re colleagues, so yes, we know each other, but not too well. I was feeling upset and did drink a bit. I didn’t notice someone was jaywalking at a red light. In a panic, I turned the car onto the sidewalk but ended up hitting someone anyway. But officer, you see she’s fine now, so can my punishment be reduced a bit?"
"Thinking about reducing the punishment now? What took you so long? Don’t you know how dangerous drunk driving is?" The officer replied formally, "Moreover, the one who’s seriously hurt is still lying on the hospital bed inside and hasn’t woken up yet."
Vivian Norris was stunned, "Bella, who else were you with?"
Bella saw that she genuinely didn’t seem to have hit them on purpose, so her furrowed brow relaxed a bit, and she said, "Officer, can the compensation issue wait until my friend wakes up? I want to hear his opinion."
"No problem," the officer nodded.
At this moment, Vivian Norris suddenly stepped forward and grabbed Bella’s hand.
