Chapter 54 Rumors about Snape and Lynch
Chapter 54 Rumors about Snape and Lynch
Harry had no idea what Professor Lynch was looking for.
But he soon found the boy he hated most in the world.
Previously, this position belonged to Dudley Dursley, but now, Draco Malfoy has risen to the top with unstoppable momentum.
Harry was fed up with Malfoy. He was hypocritical, snobbish, and arrogant. All he ever did was boast about his family or belittle others, as if he wanted to stand on the top of the castle and announce his nobility to the whole world.
He embodies all the traits that Harry dislikes.
So when Malfoy refused to return Neville's memory orb during flight class, he charged at Malfoy on his broomstick.
Looking back, Harry admits that his actions were somewhat impulsive.
Fortunately, the outcome was good; he retrieved Neville's Memory Orb, and Malfoy lost face.
Even more exciting is that Professor McGonagall has handpicked herself to become the new Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team—the youngest house player in a century!
This was absolutely a perfect day!
Harry thought to himself, "No, if Malfoy had shown up during the duel that night and I had given him a good beating, it would have been a perfect day."
But things are not bad now. After a successful escape together, I have gotten closer to my classmate Hermione. It's always good to make more friends.
More importantly, he finally learned the whereabouts of the dirty little bag in the Gringotts 713 vault.
Harry drifted off to sleep in a pleasant mood.
The following day, Professor Lynch's Magic Studies class sent most of the students at Hogwarts into even sweeter dreams.
......
Time passed day by day.
Lynch's life became regular again.
Every Friday afternoon, in Magic Research class, the students first cast spells to attack a wooden target, and the power of their spells is recorded. Then, their physical strength is exhausted, and finally, Tots helps Madam Pomfrey with recovery treatment.
For this reason, Mrs. Pomfrey has already lodged a veiled protest with him.
Clearly, treating hundreds of people each time was a considerable burden for her, and Lynch also noticed Mrs. Pomfrey's tired expression after each class.
To ease Madam Pomfrey's burden and to help the young wizards recover better, he set his sights on Snape.
"Severus, I need you to help me brew a batch of potions every week. Not the high-end kind, but I need a large quantity."
"Please leave."
"Not for my personal sake, but for the students."
"go out!"
"Mrs. Pomfrey is finding it difficult to treat so many students each time. If she had some potent healing potions to help her, I think she would have an easier time."
"go out!"
"I'm worried. Everything is fine now, but what if one day Mrs. Pomfrey neglects to treat a student's injury properly and leaves a hidden danger in his body... Such beautiful eyes, dimmed by pain, I would be heartbroken and feel guilty."
"...Come pick up what you need every Thursday night."
When two Slytherin students who happened to be in the Potions office overheard this conversation, bowed to Professor Lynch as he walked out of the room, and watched him disappear into the distance, the rumors circulating within Slytherin House that Headmaster Snape and Professor Lynch had a very close relationship were completely confirmed.
The news quickly spread throughout Hogwarts.
Now, the students taking Potions class understood why their classroom exercises had suddenly become filled with a large number of recovery potions.
But most of them were also taking magic research classes, so they put even more effort into the crafting process.
"I knew their relationship was something special!"
In the Gryffindor common room, during a break from catching up on his homework, Ron waved his quill pen and spread the latest rumors he had just heard to Harry and the others.
"George and Fred said Snape always kept to himself, but since the start of this school year, people have often seen him walking with Professor Lynch. They must be friends!"
"What does it mean that they're friends?" Hermione, who had been burying her head in a thick book at another table, looked up and interjected, "Professor Snape and Professor Lynch are both professors at Hogwarts. They deserve respect. Everyone can have friends, and there's nothing wrong with them being friends."
Ron curled his lip: "Snape wasn't a good person either. If Lynch is friends with him, he's no better."
In fact, just look at what he does every week!
Let's run until we're almost fainting, poor Neville almost faints every time...
He's a monster!
Every course at Hogwarts is offered only after Headmaster Dumbledore has approved it.
"And Professor Lynch made it very clear from the beginning that he did this to temper our will. If you want to improve, of course you have to suffer. No one succeeds easily; you need to put in the effort," Hermione argued.
"Fine, say whatever you want." Ron pouted, picked up his quill and continued writing his unfinished homework on the parchment, ending the conversation.
Hermione wanted to say something more, but seeing Ron's unwillingness to talk to her, she buried her head back in the thick book.
Ron looked up at her again, stuck out his tongue, and made a few funny faces.
Hermione, who was reading, didn't see it, but it amused Seamus and the others nearby.
Harry laughed along with him.
He felt a little regretful. During his time at Hogwarts, Snape was undoubtedly the professor he hated the most. Snape would make things difficult for him in every class and would find all sorts of ways to deduct points from Gryffindor's grades. What angered him most was that Snape always defended the Slytherin students and turned a blind eye to their mistakes.
He somewhat agreed with Ron's point of view: how good could someone who befriended Snape be?
So he felt it was a pity. In fact, he thought Professor Lynch was quite good. Although his courses were almost like torture, Hermione was right. If you want to improve, you have to suffer.
Having survived in the Dursleys' shadow for so many years, he had long understood this principle: nothing in this world can be obtained by simply reaching out; you have to put in effort to have any chance of getting something in return.
But now it seems that Professor Lynch's magical abilities and teaching skills may be adequate, but his judgment in choosing friends was clearly flawed.
Harry shook his head inwardly, then put those thoughts aside and continued racking his brains to finish his homework.
On the other side, in Slytherin House, the little snakes had very complicated expressions on their faces when they heard the rumor.
They finally understood why their dean had forbidden them from expressing any dissatisfaction with Lynch.
But then he felt that the principal agreed to make the potion because he was afraid that the student Professor Lynch mentioned as a potential threat was one of them.
Therefore, their respect and love for Snape reached an even higher level.
His inner feelings were very complex, and they were all reflected on his face.
......
Meanwhile, outside Hagrid's cabin on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, Lynch raised his hand and knocked on the wooden door.
