Chapter 120 Arrangement
He stretched out his hands and made a pressing motion, and all the fervor suddenly stopped, leaving only a few remnants of noise in the air.
Lin Qi stood in front of the main seat, his gaze sweeping across the entire room with an almost tangible intensity.
"In order to better achieve our goals, some adjustments need to be made internally within the First Order."
"Reggie," Lynch called out.
Reggie stood up.
As the one who built the First Order, he was the only person in the assembly before Lynch to use his real name instead of a code name.
In previous gatherings, he always sat in the main seat.
But this time Lynch is back, so he gladly gave up the stage.
Since entering, he had concealed his presence, sitting silently at the edge of the hall.
Lynch looked at him: "Your intelligence network has always been our most acute eyes and ears, both externally and internally."
"But clearly, juggling both internal and external matters is making it a bit overwhelming for you. I need to focus more intently on ourselves."
"Take a team from your department to set up an internal oversight body. Before we go out into the world, we need to ensure the internal health of the 'First Order'."
"Yes." Reggie's voice was completely flat, showing no concern that his power had been divided, because this was a plan he and Lynch had come up with after discussing it, and he had even recommended the leader of the internal oversight department.
"Ms. A," Lynch called out a code name, "you will be in charge of the new internal oversight department. Any questions?"
A figure shrouded in black robes stood up from a stone bench on the side of the hall: "No problem, Your Excellency!"
"Very good!" Lynch nodded. "Mr. Hound will be your second-in-command. I believe the two of you will work together very well."
"You have one week to set up the new department."
"The first task after the team was formed was to thoroughly review the logistics department from top to bottom!"
"Where there is a leader, there will be a subordinate; Mr. G's case is not an isolated incident."
Lin Qi paused, his gaze sweeping over everyone in the hall: "If anyone wants to confess anything, please contact Ms. A as soon as possible. I can let bygones be bygones. But if you insist on hiding it and it gets out eventually, the outcome will be different..."
As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Qi noticed that several wizards in the hall were sitting or lying down restlessly.
But he ignored them, trusting in Ms. A and the hounds' abilities.
He continued, "Given that Mr. G is no longer able to serve as the head of the logistics department, we need a new logistics supervisor."
"Mr. M."
A wizard stood up from the stone bench, seemingly caught off guard, not expecting to be called upon.
"What the logistics department needs is a meticulous and reliable leader."
"I saw that in the alchemical items you created. Now, I appoint you as the new head of the Logistics Department."
"I want you to apply the same meticulousness you use when creating alchemical artifacts, to transform that place into the most reliable power core of the First Order, ensuring its flawless operation. Can you do it?"
"As you wish, Your Excellency." Mr. M took a deep breath and nodded emphatically. "The Logistics Department will become the First Order's most solid and reliable support!"
"Very good." Lin Qi nodded.
He spoke again, his voice sincere:
"Today, we punished those who had strayed from the right path, promoted trustworthy brothers, and learned of the return of a formidable enemy."
His gaze slowly swept over each face hidden in the shadows or by the firelight. "I know this will make people uneasy. It will make them doubt the people around them, and even doubt the path beneath their feet."
He paused for a moment: "But we've gathered here not because it's an easy road."
His voice grew stronger, his gaze intense. "We come from different places, with different scars. Some of us lost loved ones in war, some suffered persecution because of our bloodlines, and some were simply fed up with the Ministry of Magic's self-deceptive tricks."
I've had enough of the arrogant condescension of pure-blood families!
A few words evoked a silent resonance, and many bodies beneath the black robes straightened slightly.
"We chose this more difficult path not because we crave power or Galleons—though they are sometimes necessary tools," Lynch's voice was resolute. "We chose this path because we believe 'a wizard is a wizard'! We believe in a world where status is determined by ability, not bloodline, by contribution, not flattery! We believe magic should be used for protection and creation, not for enslavement and destruction!"
"This belief is worth fighting for, even sacrificing for!"
"Remember, the First Order does not belong to any one person; it belongs to all of us. Its strength stems from the perseverance of each and every one of us. Its future will be forged by the combined hands of all of us."
He straightened up, his final gaze sweeping across the room, a gaze filled with expectation, trust, and unwavering determination.
"Our cause will surely succeed."
There were no passionate shouts, no frenzied cheers, but the atmosphere in the entire hall had been completely changed.
The initial fear and tension were replaced by a deeper and more resolute sense of responsibility.
Many people's eyes regained their brightness and determination.
"Now go back to your lives, but remember to always be prepared. If you have any doubts, you know where to find Reggie and me."
The wizards filed out of the hall and headed towards the island's entrances and exits, where only the anti-Apparition spell was not set up.
"Mr. A," Lin Qi called out to Mr. A, who was about to walk toward Mr. M.
Mr. A then gestured to his men, instructing them to take Mr. M away first.
He walked up to Lin Qi and waited for Lin Qi's instructions.
Lynch stood quietly until only Reggie and Mr. A remained in the hall before speaking: "Andrew, keep an eye on Mr. G. Make him spit out all the money he swallowed, with interest, not a single nut missing. Once the money is paid off, throw him into the training camp and train him to the strictest standards to grind away that layer of greed on him."
He emphasized, "But don't let him participate in any field missions. He needs to pay for his mistakes, but I don't want a worthless body."
"Yes, Your Excellency!" Andrew's voice was steady. "I will keep a close eye on him myself."
Andrew was a First Order elder, the first wizard to join the First Order besides Lynch and Reggie, and Lynch knew he was trustworthy.
He stepped forward, patted Andrew on the strong shoulder, and said in a low voice, "Andrew, Voldemort will return. Tell the brothers to put away their complacency and sharpen their claws. An inevitable battle awaits us."
Andrew's eyes were resolute: "We will surely win!"
