Chapter 1585 - 1567
Chapter 1585 - 1567
Feng Luo stood there with her arms crossed, glaring fiercely at the doorway, but Luo Qi and the housekeeper of He Shuo Prince Mansion were already out of sight.
"No way!" Feng Luo suddenly spoke again, "I have to follow them and take a look."
Chu Ge wanted to step forward to stop her, but Feng Luo was faster and dashed out directly.
He watched Feng Luo, as fast as the wind and fiery, shaking his head speechlessly.
Little Shunzi, bewildered, asked, "Mr. Chu, what should we do now? Should we follow too?"
Honestly, he really wanted to go and see as well. He had never been to the Prince Manor in his entire life.
"What for? Do you think someone like us can casually step into the Prince Manor?"
Chu Ge objected, "Without someone from the Prince Manor to lead us, even if Feng Luo goes, she’ll still be stopped outside."
Little Shunzi was momentarily stunned, then sighed lightly, "True, we didn’t go with Boss Luo. If we had gone with him just now, we wouldn’t be stopped outside now."
Chu Ge pondered for a moment, not responding to Little Shunzi’s words. Feng Luo would surely be stopped outside as well.
He thought for a bit and told Little Shunzi, "Alright, go back and rest. I’ll go see how Feng Luo is doing."
From recent interactions, he had learned that Feng Luo had a quick temper. If she got stopped outside, who knows what kind of ruckus she might cause.
Upon hearing this, Little Shunzi quickly followed and said, "Mr. Chu, let me accompany you."
His task was to monitor Chu Ge. If he left even half a step and missed something important, he would be in serious trouble.
Chu Ge didn’t object, letting him follow along.
As Chu Ge expected, when Feng Luo arrived at the Prince Manor, she was indeed blocked at the gate.
"Why are you stopping me? Let me in!" Feng Luo shouted furiously.
"This is the Prince Manor, not a place where a little beggar like you can just wander in," the guard said disdainfully.
"A little beggar like me?" Feng Luo was furious, "Why then do you invite beggars like us in a grand sedan to treat your Princess Consort’s illness?"
The guard wouldn’t listen to Feng Luo’s words. He just pushed her out, "Stop causing trouble at the Prince Manor’s gate! Or you’ll be thrown into prison!"
Feng Luo wasn’t going to take that. She stood with her hands on her hips, glaring at the guard, "My dad just went in, why can he enter and I can’t? If you won’t let me in, fine, call my dad out! I won’t let him treat your Princess Consort!"
She said this and was about to rush in, only to be pushed out again.
Feng Luo fell to the ground awkwardly and painfully, rubbing her backside when she got up. It really hurt!
"You’re bullying too much!"
Feng Luo angrily pointed at them.
Chu Ge shook his head helplessly as he walked up, "You can’t just charge in like that."
Feng Luo said, frustrated, "Why are you here? Even you might not be able to get in!"
She snorted, seemingly saying that even if he came, it was useless; they wouldn’t give him any face!
Chu Ge smiled, "Do you believe I have a way to get in?"
Feng Luo looked at him suspiciously, "What do you mean? What way do you have?"
Little Shunzi also curiously watched Chu Ge. This was the Prince Manor. You couldn’t just walk through the main gate, so was he thinking of climbing over the wall? Unless Chu Ge didn’t value his life.
Chu Ge pulled Feng Luo aside and lowered his voice, "This is the Prince Manor, heavily guarded. Are you sure you want to get in?"
"Of course! I must see what strange illness the Princess Consort has that even the Imperial Physicians in the Prince Manor are at a loss to treat."
Feng Luo really wanted to get in, but she had no way to do so!
She curiously looked at Chu Ge and asked, "What good plan do you have?"
If he could get her in, not only would she stop opposing him living with the Beggar Gang, she’d even treat him well!
Chu Ge glanced at the tall red wall and said, "Do you see this red wall?"
Feng Luo looked at him confused, "What do you mean? You can’t be thinking of climbing the wall, right?"
Chu Ge gave a meaningful smile, "Do you think there’s any other way besides climbing the wall?"
Feng Luo stayed silent on the side.
Little Shunzi swallowed nervously, watching Chu Ge, "Mr. Chu, you’re really going to climb? This is the Prince Manor! If caught, it would be beheading for sure!"
Little Shunzi was, after all, an ancient person at heart, quite timid. He couldn’t bring himself to climb a wall, especially a wall of the Prince Manor.
Feng Luo stared at the high wall for a long while before saying, "Fine! Climb then, this high wall is not a problem for me!"
She turned to Little Shunzi and said, "If you’re too scared to go, then stand outside as lookout!"
By lookout, she meant waiting outside, as going in might just cause trouble.
Little Shunzi pursed his lips, struggling internally. He didn’t dare go in, but if Chu Ge went in, he had to follow to monitor him. Otherwise, how could he keep an eye on Chu Ge?
But if caught, his head would be at risk.
After thinking it over, Little Shunzi finally decided not to go in.
After all, if he didn’t monitor Chu Ge for a while, Lady Ye wouldn’t know. His life was more important.
Chu Ge took Feng Luo to a secluded place, likely a side courtyard of the Prince Manor. He leaped up and landed atop the wall.
Feng Luo knew Chu Ge had some martial arts skills but hadn’t expected him to know qinggong as well. Unwilling to be outdone, she jumped up after him.
Just like that, the two sneaked into the Prince Manor. But once inside, they were both baffled. The Prince Manor was so big, where should they go to find Luo Qi?
"You suggested breaking in. Now, tell me, what do we do?" In the end, Feng Luo shifted the responsibility to Chu Ge.
Chu Ge furrowed his brow slightly. He hadn’t thought this far, but there was only one feasible method now.
"Let’s find someone to ask."
Chu Ge suggested.
Feng Luo looked at him puzzled, "Are you stupid? If we ask someone, won’t we expose ourselves? What if we get caught?"
Chu Ge looked at her amusedly, "Are you afraid of getting caught?"
Feng Luo rolled her eyes at Chu Ge.
"Don’t worry. We won’t get exposed. We’ll just knock them out, right?"
Just then, someone approached, carrying a tray of snacks, grumbling, "A beggar eating such expensive food, personally requesting osmanthus cake, as if they’re so important!"
Upon hearing this, Feng Luo snapped, "How dare she insult Luo Qi!"
Luo Qi loved osmanthus cake the most, and since she mentioned "beggar," there was only one beggar in the Prince Manor: Luo Qi, right?!
