Chapter 1008: Five Years Of Isolation
Chapter 1008: Five Years Of Isolation
Entire markets now sat empty.
Qing Luan admitted they had already noticed those opportunities long ago. However they hesitated to move aggressively because they feared retaliation from the Blood Sect once the gates reopened.
Han Yu simply told her not to worry anymore.
"Expand fully."
That single instruction changed everything.
Qing Luan immediately mobilized the Luan Merchant Union.
Trade caravans expanded rapidly throughout the frontier regions. New branches appeared across settlements previously ignored by major factions. Resources began flowing through hidden routes established by the Rat Battalion and Qing Luan’s network.
Within only two months, a formal branch of the Luan Merchant Union appeared within Kyo Village itself.
Officially it existed merely to support hunters and frontier traders. Unofficially it became Han Yu’s personal communication center. Now messages arrived regularly and information flowed constantly.
Han Yu finally regained his connection to the outside world.
And once that happened...
Time began passing incredibly quickly.
The sect remained hidden away in fear and suspicion.
Meanwhile outside, the Luan Merchant Union flourished more rapidly than ever before. Han Yu himself spent most of his days cultivating, researching and planning future moves while quietly observing the continent through the reports Qing Luan sent him.
His master eventually relaxed somewhat as the years passed peacefully.
The Second Kidney Peak Head no longer watched Han Yu every moment of the day. The old man himself spent much of his time cultivating in isolation within the mansion.
Meng Jueyan managed the household quietly while Chitterfang grew fatter than ever from endless supplies of spirit nuts and food arriving from the merchant caravans. The peaceful atmosphere almost felt surreal compared to the chaos Han Yu had created within the sect.
And before anyone truly realized it...
Five entire years passed in the blink of an eye and that was more than enough time for Han Yu to prepare many things.
While the Luan Merchant Union expanded wildly across the frontier regions and steadily grew into a major force outside the influence of the Slaughtered Moon Divine Blood Sect, Han Yu himself had been preparing something far more important in secret.
A teleportation array.
It was one of the most ambitious things he had ever attempted.
Of course, Han Yu himself did not possess the skill required to construct a large scale long distance teleportation array. Formation arrays of that level required grandmasters who had spent centuries studying spatial principles and spatial alignment.
Even the Blood Sect itself treated such arrays as strategic treasures.
As such, Han Yu had Qing Luan secretly gather the necessary formation masters through intermediaries over the years. None of them knew who truly commissioned the work. Some thought it was for a hidden merchant route while others believed it was a private escape array for some wealthy clan.
The construction itself took over an entire year.
The materials alone cost a horrifying amount of wealth.
Spatial Spark jade.
Void iron.
Heaven crossing crystal dust.
Star aligned formation plates.
Spirit vein stabilizers.
Every single component was absurdly expensive and difficult to obtain discreetly. Thankfully the Luan Merchant Union had already grown powerful enough to slowly acquire them without drawing too much suspicion.
The array itself was hidden deep within the forests nearly two hundred kilometers away from the safe house.
It was concealed inside a naturally occurring cavern beneath a cliffside waterfall. Several concealment formations covered the area while a secondary illusion array distorted the surroundings.
Even if someone passed nearby, they would never realize what was hidden there.
Still, despite the array being completed years ago, Han Yu had never used it.
He simply could not.
The Second Kidney Peak Head almost never left the mansion.
The old man remained there continuously for years while personally overseeing Han Yu’s safety. The protective arrays surrounding the mansion also remained active constantly. Any suspicious movement would immediately be noticed.
Han Yu had patiently waited.
One year passed after the array was completed.
Then another.
And another.
Yet his master still remained there.
At one point Han Yu had almost started considering more drastic options before finally, today, things changed. The Second Kidney Peak Head suddenly received a message. Han Yu immediately noticed the old man’s expression turn serious afterward.
Then the Peak Head summoned him.
"I need to leave for some time," the old man explained calmly while standing within the main hall of the mansion.
Han Yu immediately paid attention.
"How long will Master be gone?" he asked naturally.
The old man frowned slightly before replying.
"A year perhaps. Maybe longer."
Han Yu’s heart immediately stirred.
’Finally.’
After all these years, the opportunity had arrived.
Externally though, he remained calm.
"I understand," Han Yu replied respectfully. "Then I shall enter seclusion during this period and continue cultivating diligently."
The Second Kidney Peak Head smiled proudly.
Over these past years he had watched Ju Fan cultivate almost obsessively. Han Yu rarely wasted time and spent most days either researching, refining jiangshi, studying formations or cultivating within the ice chambers.
The old man genuinely believed his disciple had become even more mature after everything that happened within the sect.
"Good," he nodded approvingly. "Strength is the only true foundation in this world. Continue working hard."
Han Yu bowed respectfully.
Soon afterward the old man departed from the mansion. Han Yu watched him leave carefully through the monitoring arrays. Even after the Peak Head vanished into the distance, Han Yu did not act immediately.
He waited.
One day.
Two days.
Three days.
An entire week passed before Han Yu finally moved.
Only after fully confirming through both spirit sense and Chitterfang’s scouts that his master truly remained far away did Han Yu finally begin preparing. The first thing he did was summon Meng Jueyan.
The woman arrived quickly though her expression became increasingly uneasy after hearing Han Yu’s plan.
"You truly intend to do this?" she asked quietly.
Han Yu nodded.
Meng Jueyan bit her lip nervously.
"Master... are you certain you can create another body?"
She did not fully understand Han Yu’s abilities.
