Chapter 1005: Forced To Relocate
Chapter 1005: Forced To Relocate
The Lung Peak incident had frightened everyone too badly.
If another legacy vanished...
The damage to the sect’s future would become irreversible.
But that was not all.
The Patriarch then turned toward the veiled figures of the Ancestors.
"Seniors," he spoke respectfully.
"What should be done regarding the Legacy Disciples?"
The hall quieted completely. Everyone knew the importance of Legacy Disciples, they represented the future of the sect and any loss among them would be devastating.
A dry old voice echoed from behind the veil.
"They cannot remain here."
It was the Sanguine Ancestor.
Another voice followed immediately after.
"Heart Peak is no longer guaranteed safe."
Death Bell Ancestor’s words made several elders lower their heads uneasily.
Then the Perishing Lute Ancestor finally spoke.
"You do not know who else among you is compromised."
Those words landed like hammers as several people visibly stiffened.
The Patriarch slowly nodded, then he made the decision.
"All Legacy Disciples are to be removed from the sect temporarily."
Shock spread instantly.
"They will each be sent to separate hidden locations."
"Only I shall know every destination."
"No disciple is to know where the others are sent."
"And each shall be escorted personally by trusted Peak Heads."
The elders quickly understood the reasoning.
If the Ashen Moon Remnants truly existed within the sect, then gathering the Legacy Disciples together would only make them easier targets. Separating them reduced the risk. At that exact moment, Han Yu knew nothing about this.
His soul form was currently moving through another part of the sect planting future contingencies.
Explosive talismans.
Modified Jiangshi.
Hidden triggers.
He was already preparing the next wave of chaos. Thus when he was suddenly summoned to the Grand Hall the following day, he was genuinely surprised. Han Yu entered calmly and bowed.
"This disciple greets Patriarch."
The Patriarch looked toward him.
"Ju Fan."
"You are to leave the sect tomorrow."
Han Yu paused and for a brief moment even he was caught off guard.
"Leave the sect?" he repeated carefully.
The Patriarch nodded.
"You and the other Legacy Disciples will be relocated temporarily for your safety."
Han Yu frowned slightly.
"Is the situation truly that dangerous?"
The Patriarch’s expression darkened.
"A Legacy Disciple has already died. That alone is enough."
The Second Kidney Peak Head who stood nearby also spoke.
"You will leave together with me. We cannot risk anything happening to you."
Han Yu lowered his head obediently.
"This disciple understands."
Inside however... He was upset.
Very upset.
Everything had been progressing perfectly.
The sect’s paranoia was growing nonstop, its foundations were cracking and now they wanted to remove him from the board entirely. If he left the sect, many of his future plans would become impossible.
At the very least they would become slower and far more difficult.
He quickly began calculating alternatives.
Contingencies.
Delayed triggers.
Autonomous traps.
Fortunately he had prepared for situations where he might lose direct access to the sect. Though he never expected those contingencies would become necessary so soon.
Han Yu spoke again carefully.
"Patriarch, may this disciple be granted some time to prepare?"
The Patriarch thought briefly.
"One day. That is all."
Han Yu bowed.
Then immediately left. The moment he returned to his chambers his soul shot out from his body. The entire sect became busy again. With the help of his Jiangshi, Han Yu began planting hidden explosive formations across numerous locations.
Some were hidden beneath roads, some within abandoned storages, others inside mountain walls or beneath buildings. His plan was simple. Even if he could not remain within the sect... The sect itself would continue bleeding.
Explosions.
Sabotage.
Chaos.
They would never truly rest.
Han Yu could only hope that being sent outside the sect might actually provide him with more freedom instead of less. At the very least, away from Heart Peak’s constant monitoring arrays, his soul form might become easier to use.
That night he contacted Lady Rot Rose’s group using the hidden token.
The communication channel erupted immediately.
Everyone had received the same order.
Daoist Blood Pool sounded particularly annoyed.
"They’re actually kicking us out of the sect?"
Mistress Love Wine grumbled.
"And nobody knows where we’re going."
Lady Rot Rose herself sounded calm.
"The Patriarch is serious this time."
"Even Heart Peak has become unstable."
Han Yu listened silently.
Every Legacy Disciple was being separated. None of them knew the destinations and even the escorts varied. The sect was terrified and that realization alone pleased Han Yu somewhat.
The next day arrived quickly.
Han Yu packed everything important.
Resources.
Research materials.
Jade slips.
Special curse tools.
And naturally Meng Jueyan accompanied him too.
The woman remained calm outwardly though Han Yu could tell she was uneasy about the situation. Soon the Second Kidney Peak Head arrived personally. The old man looked extremely serious.
"We leave immediately."
Han Yu gave one last look toward the sect, toward the Blood Moon hanging above it, toward the peaks filled with paranoia and fear, then he followed his master into the sky. The formation barriers opened.
For the first time in years... Han Yu left the Slaughtered Moon Divine Blood Sect.
Han Yu followed his master through the skies in silence.
The three figures moved swiftly above the forests and plains while maintaining ordinary appearances. Before leaving the sect they had all used disguise techniques and changed their clothing.
The Second Kidney Peak Head no longer looked like an imposing Peak Head of the Slaughtered Moon Divine Blood Sect. Instead he appeared like a somewhat stern middle aged cultivator with plain robes and weathered features.
Han Yu himself had also changed.
His sharp and cold appearance softened while his cultivation fluctuations were hidden beneath layers of concealment techniques. Even Meng Jueyan had altered her appearance and dressed like a simple servant girl accompanying her master and senior brother.
None of them looked remarkable.
If anyone saw them on the road they would merely think them wandering cultivators.
The Second Kidney Peak Head remained vigilant throughout the journey. Several times Han Yu noticed the old man secretly checking their surroundings with his spirit sense while also leaving behind hidden traces that would mislead trackers.
It became obvious to Han Yu that the sect truly feared the Ashen Moon Remnants if even a Peak Head was being cautious to this degree.
