Chapter 878: The Sky Serpent Boss

Jason began moving across the various battlefields to take a look at all the fighting superhumans. Most of the superhumans were doing fine since they were getting support from the Legion subordinates. The members of the Rulers were the ones who didn’t look like they would be needing any help at all. Helga had grown her body until she was nearly seven meters tall, and she was tearing through any Sky Serpent that fell to the ground. Victor was using two long whips that sparked with electricity, and Jason watched as Victor created an area of destruction around him by swinging the whips exceptionally fast!Any Sky Serpent that came within the whip’s radius would be torn apart by the speed of the whips or burnt by the electric current, and Jason couldn’t help but admit that Victor was more than strong enough to take care of himself. Victor had been hiding in Mexico and leeching off people for a very long time, and that was why he was still one of the weakest of the Rulers, but Jason was sure that with a little more effort, Victor could grow stronger than Stragga!

Katarina was also in the middle of her own battle, but since she was a supporter, she was currently pouring all her support into the Legion subordinates that were on the frontline. Katarina was standing in a rock formation that acted as both a vantage point and cover in case any of the Sky Serpents attacked her, and she watched as a Machina subordinate tore one of the Sky Serpents in half without any effort at all! Katarina’s ability could boost a weaker superhuman’s strength by nearly a hundred percent and a stronger superhuman’s strength by about fifty to sixty percent, so right now, even the Rook Rank III subordinates who were only on the same level as SS Ranks were capable of putting up a serious fight against the TITAN Rank Sky Serpents!

Katarina narrowed her eyes as she saw one of the Adamantine Ant subordinates falling out of the sky as it was killed, and she shifted her support away from the dead subordinate and toward another Moonlight Wolf at the side! The Moonlight Wolf grew even stronger and quickly charged towards a Sky Serpent and grabbed the Sky Serpent’s neck with its teeth! Katarina smiled, and Jason watched Katarina from his place in the sky for a few more seconds before he vanished once again.

The only other superhuman in the gate that was doing as well as the Rulers was Francis. Francis was keeping up with the subordinates and dealing massive damage to the serpents using his rings, but the other superhumans from the country guilds were leaving most of the fighting to the subordinates since they just couldn’t keep up with the intensity of the Serpents! Jason just told the Legion to make sure no one was killed. It would be bad if Earth lost any of its SSS Ranks in a Gate like this!

Jason didn’t need to go check on Gina or Stella because Jason could feel their mana from very far away, and he knew that they were giving the Sky Serpents hell! Gina’s massive wind typhoon could be seen from the other side of the island, and Stella’s mana was spiking constantly to show that she was activating hundreds of skills! The only things keeping Stella and Gina busy were the fact that there were so many Sky Serpents! Jason had counted at least fifteen hundred Sky Serpents already, and there were still more showing up. But even if the numbers increased, Jason was sure that both women would be able to take care of the mobs easily!

Jason suddenly looked to the side as he felt Ragnar’s magic signature reaching out to him! Ragnar announced that he had found the main nest of the Sky Serpents, and Jason grinned as he vanished and headed for Ragnar’s location! Jason appeared on Ragnar’s back, and he looked down to see a large mountain below him! The mountain had hundreds of cave holes all around it, and there were hundreds of Serpents slithering out from the caves and flying through the air towards the various battles! So this is where those fuckers have been coming from. Well, let’s finish this off quickly.

Jason stepped off Ragnar’s back, and he landed on a black circular disk in the sky. The serpents on the ground were still unaware of Jason’s presence in the sky above them, and Jason took his time as he brought his hands together and activated a skill.

A pulse of energy suddenly shot across the landscape, and every single serpent looked up at the same time once they felt it! The Sky Serpents all hissed as they quickly started to fly towards Jason, but Jason didn’t bother paying them any attention as he focused on molding his mana and Qi properly. The last time Jason used this skill, he had destroyed an entire world because he wasn’t able to control the damage radius properly. But after training for so long, Jason had finally figured out a way to make sure the damage stayed within a certain region.

The entire world seemed to slow down the moment Jason’s skill activated! A single white flake of power formed in the middle of Jason’s intertwined fingers, and it slowly drifted through the air and headed for the mountain below. The flake gently fell on the tip of the mountain before it sank into the rocky surface. For a moment, there was nothing but silence. But then, the world exploded!

KA-BOOOMMM!

A cascading wave of destruction erupted across the mountain surface and consumed it! The energy from Jason’s Resonance tore into the ground without effort before shooting up like a beacon of pure fire that rose high into the sky! Jason simply watched with his hands behind his back as his Resonance energy destroyed the mountain! The Sky Serpents that had been heading towards Jason had been burnt to a crisp, and Jason looked around to see thousands of Sky Serpents falling from the sky like rain!

After training for so long, Jason learned that he could dictate the direction he wanted his Resonance blast to go in, depending on how he mixed the energies! There were a lot of criteria that went into deciding the direction of the blast, like the quantity of each energy type that was mixed in, the shape of the energy, and even the duration of molding. But in the end, Jason had mastered how to make sure his blast did exactly what he wanted it to!

Jason turned off his resonance as he felt his body pulsing with slight pain, and Jason frowned. Even now, it was still difficult to channel this power through his body without damaging himself. Once Jason was done with this Gate, he would definitely learn how to do this!

ROARRRR!!

A loud roar echoed from below, and the superhumans all across the gate had to stop their fight and look towards Jason’s direction in shock when they felt the intense mana that pulsed across the air just now! The boss had awakened!

The TITAN Rank I mobs that the superhumans had been fighting already seemed dangerous enough, but now that they were feeling the full intensity of a TITAN Rank III’s mana, they realised that the boss was a completely different monster compared to these mobs!

Jason looked down from his platform in the sky to see a massive figure slithering and shifting within the smoke created by his Resonance blast.
