Chapter 547: A familiar connection from the portal
"Nice to meet you too," Grey replied with a smile as he initiated another telepathic link with Jasmine.
"Let me guess, this is your ancestor too?"
"Yep," Jasmine’s cheerful reply came back. "This is Isabelle’s soon-to-be husband."
"They are in a relationship right now. They have not made it official yet," Jasmine said with a chuckle. "They also did the naughty stuff."
"I did not want to know that information, Jasmine," Grey replied with twitching lips. "But thanks anyways."
Jasmine was always the type to have a screw loose, and it still held true even after a year.
"Everyone here came at the worst time. We were being invaded by the abyss, and honestly, they are not the only ones," Anthony said with a serious look.
"But I am a sixth-rank being. I was busy clearing away the abyssal beings at the sixth rank myself and did not realize Miss Jasmine was trapped inside the space station outside."
He stood and bowed. "I heard from Isabelle that it was you all who helped her in time. I thank you on behalf of all of humanity."
"Miss Jasmine is an innovative individual that changed modern magic for us forever."
Grey nodded subtly. He could tell that this marshal had his doubts about him, especially since he did something that was impossible by energy and technological means. That was eliminating corruption fields. The suspicion was normal.
’Still a sixth rank.’ Grey scanned the man.
Tian Yuan’s evolutionary path was quite impressive, was it not?
To create a sixth-ranker in ten years took a lot of effort. But this was partially related to Jasmine herself. She advanced the creation process of higher generation HexCores, resulting in more and more powerhouses coming out with her ability.
Jasmine was a sixth rank too, in the early stage.
The marshal here was at the middle stage.
NeoStar exceeded his expectations.
"So the current limit of modern magic is the sixth rank, huh?" Grey asked curiously.
"That is indeed correct," Isabelle replied casually and with some arrogance in her tone. "We are currently working towards the seventh rank to reach the threshold of origin ascension for this universe."
Then, Anthony spoke. "Now, that aside. I take it that you people are from another planet nearby?" he asked. "Only recently did we realize signs of alien life across the few galaxies that span this universe."
"If so, welcome to our planet, NeoStar."
Grey did not say anything; he just kept quiet.
He did not reveal the fact he was from another universe just yet.
"While we are on that topic, we also want to ask you something. Are you also being invaded by another universe?" Anthony wore a serious expression on his face.
"Oh?" Grey looked at Jasmine in interest upon hearing this.
She sighed. "It happened recently. A portal spawned to the north of the planet. It is suspended there, and a scout came out of it the other day to look around. Our forces tried to stop him, but he was extremely powerful, stopping all the forces we had in one move."
"With our technology, we have confirmed that these people are using World Breaking Source Power to invade our world."
"That impressive?" Grey was surprised.
Especially World Breaking Source Power. What sort of powerful civilization is this to have access to World Breaking Source Power?
"We do not know anything about them. All we know is, if their army crosses over to our world, NeoStar will be no more."
"Unfortunately, no," Grey replied casually. "We have not been invaded yet."
"I see." Anthony sighed in disappointment.
Anthony wanted to exchange information, but it seemed like that would not happen any time soon.
"Then, please excuse me. I still have to attend to matters. Most of the soldiers are injured and need allocations to trauma units."
Anthony stood up and turned to leave. The only reason he left the new aliens that came to his planet was because of Jasmine. He trusted Jasmine wholeheartedly; she was the pillar of their civilization. The people she trusts would not be bad people. And it seemed like she had contact with this other civilization.
Anthony vividly remembered the lack of excitement from Jasmine when they first found alien life signs, as if she was already aware of it. It all made sense now!
He also believed Miss Jasmine would get her hands on the thing that actually eliminated the corruption fields, because he knew damn well that it was not the kid. He was only at the fifth rank!
With that misconception, Anthony left the room.
However, just as he left, a red siren rang in the room. With the same speed, Anthony came back with a serious look on his face.
"It is from the portal. Powerful presences are coming from the northern side."
At the same time, Grey felt a certain fluctuation that made him frown.
"How many are there?" Isabelle rose from her seat and asked in urgency.
"Almost one thousand of them," Anthony said with a grim look.
"We need to prepare," Anthony added with a grim look on his face.
Isabelle also wore a grim expression.
However, Jasmine was calm. She looked at Grey with a pleading look as she cupped her hands together.
"Fine." Grey snapped his fingers.
"We are also coming." Grey glanced at Anthony and spoke.
"Maybe we will be able to help," Grey added with a smile.
"But there is a seventh-ranker among them," Anthony said with a look of distress. "I do not sense the sixth rank or seventh rank from any of you."
"Do not worry," Grey smiled.
"Take us there." Grey smiled.
A few minutes later, Grey was in the reality ship heading to the north. There was a huge portal there and an army that was suspended in the air.
"Mortals of this world. We are the Army of Origin. We are here to conquer this universe on behalf of our lord." A powerful voice bellowed from the other side.
However, Grey, who saw them and the portal, had a baffled look on his face.
"What the fuck?" he cursed out.
"What happened, Grey?" the others, seeing him curse, asked.
Grey looked at the portal speechlessly. He felt it. A connection. A connection that came from his Peerless Yellow Dragon Fate Technique.
