"What do you want?"
Luna's smile faltered momentarily, uncertainty clouding her expression as she contemplated the question.
What did she truly want? The desire to kill Lucian burned within her, but she knew that wasn't the question Eli was asking. With a heavy sigh, she confessed, "I don't know... I really don't know what I want."
Eli simply patted her back and sighed deeply, concern evident in his eyes, "Are you... going to leave me?"
Luna had no words for that. She felt a lump in her throat, the question weighing heavily on her heart.
Eli took her silence as an answer. His shoulders slumped slightly, the unspoken words hanging in the air between them.
"..."
A heavy silence descended upon them, filling the room with a palpable tension. After a moment, Luna tried to break the tension and cheer him up, "C-Come on, Eli..." but her voice was shaky, and her own eyes were filled with tears as if she might cry at any moment again.
Eli gently wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, his touch tender. "Could you allow me into your heart?" he asked softly.
Luna tilted her head, not fully understanding the depth of his question, but she nodded. "Of course!"
In response, Eli hugged her tightly. She felt like a small rabbit caught in his arms, and she blushed, feeling a strange warmth spreading through her body. "W-What are you doing?" she stammered, but then she suddenly felt an even deeper warmth inside her, something almost magical.
Eli was already standing inside her soul realm, a place of ethereal beauty and mystery.
"Two entities... ah," Eli mumbled, observing the scene before him. The white space was dominated by two crystals. One was shining brightly, pulsating with life, while the other was dull and lifeless.
Eli understood that the bright one was Aurora, while the dull one represented her deceased child.
He hoped, that his daughter's soul was still alive within the crystal. But it seemed futile. With a sad expression, he touched the dull crystal and mumbled, "Your mother really loves you... Please don't hate her."
Eli stared at the dull crystal. Just remembering Aurora's silence to his question made him tremble. "I wish... I could do something..."
However, she shook her head. "I don't think it is the right time to tell her... Eli?"
He already had the space. He wasted no time in telling Luna about this.... He was really over the clouds.
"Sigh... He is really over-the-top sometimes..." A faint blush crept over her cheeks as she considered Eli's eagerness.
Outside,
Eli suddenly pushed Luna, who was startled by his sudden action. "W-What happened?" she asked, confusion in her eyes.
"I love you... tsk... I mean, I have some good news," Eli said, his expression serious but his voice betraying a hint of excitement.
Luna giggled at Eli's sudden tongue twist and asked, "What good news?"
Just about to answer when,
"THUD!"
Eli and Luna looked to the side and saw Mariel and Rose standing there, looking at Luna with trembling eyes.
Luna's eyes widened in shock. She had totally forgotten that her room and Rose's room were connected.
"A-Aurora...." Mariel mumbled, her voice trembling as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing, tears threatening to spill down her cheeks.
It didn't take a second. Mariel had already jumped at Luna, wrapping her in a tight embrace along with Eli. Even Rose, who rarely showed such vulnerability, lost her composure and joined in, hugging Luna as if she might disappear at any moment.
"W-Why?" Mariel could only manage to ask, her voice choked with emotion.
"I-I am sorry..." Luna whispered, her voice trembling. That's all she could offer, the weight of her apology hanging in the air.... Yet, Mariel wasn't buying.
She heard... She heard Everything!!!
Even Rose shouted, "I really thought you left me, Mother!!!"
Their pain was evident in their eyes... Luna... no, Aurora could only lower her head pain.
