Chapter 67: A Show of Strength As we spent our entire day

The following day, our plan was the same. Wake up, eat, and scout for the monster.

Arriving at the pier, we noticed the sky was a little cloudier than before, but the day was bright nonetheless.

"Let’s try splitting up more and cover a wider area..." I said to both Melina and Vespera.

"If you do find something, come back to the pier, and we will all go together, alright?" I continued.

The plan was to find it first and then kill it. However, we hadn’t seen the monster yet, so I didn’t have a clear idea of how strong it would be.

Since I didn’t want to put Melina in needless danger, I thought my plan was the best for this situation.

Taking into the skies again, the three of us split in different directions while using our "search" spell to look for the monster.

This time, I got closer to the water until I was almost at its level. I figured that if the Kraken was going deeper, then the closer I was to the water, the better chances I would have of locating it.

However, I still couldn’t find anything with my "search" spell spanning hundreds of meters around me.

I sighed. "I guess I’ll have to get closer..." I said to myself before casting a spell that mixed water and air magic and surrounded the bottom part of my face with a bubble.

Diving into the ocean with the bubble allowing me to breathe, I used air magic to propel myself as I went deeper to use my "search" spell again.

After a few minutes, I still couldn’t find anything, and going deeper could be more dangerous than expected. However, just as I was about to propel myself up out of the water, I sensed something massive moving under.

Even then, my "search" spell didn’t show me anything. The feeling was all intuition and not magic related.

I looked down and tried to adjust my vision, but the deep water was too dark to discern anything.
