"Why are you so focused on destroying everything? It’s clear that not all devils think the same as you. So, why?" I asked.
In a strange way, I was interested in knowing Drakzen’s train of thought.
The fact that Jackson and Nessa could think for themselves and realize that all they truly wanted was a peaceful life made me believe that other devils might have felt the same way.
"Why... Hah... Hahahaha!" Drakzen laughed, although it didn’t sound genuine.
"Have you ever heard of the demon realm, Ichiro?" he asked back.
"Somewhat. I heard it was overpopulated—that’s why you are here, right?" I replied.
"Exactly, then why... WHY must we put up with that hell while you people don’t even bring the full potential of this vast world!?" Drakzen shouted, his voice sounding a bit more deranged than ever.
"All you people do is live for yourselves with the excuse that it’s the best for everyone. Did you think murder and slavery wouldn’t exist without us here!? Huh, Ichiro!?" he continued.
"Splitting your territories? Splitting your people? High-ranking nobles having better lives than others when they haven’t accomplished anything in their lifetime? You may not see it, but you are all the same as the devils in our realm..."
When I spoke with Jackson about the demon realm a few years ago, he told me that the reason they were sent to invade this world was because their demon king had been left without a territory of his own.
In their realm, there were various demon kings who held different territories under their reign, and they were at constant war with each other, as all the demon kings wanted to rule over all of hell.
"I’ll unite this world under one rule. That’s how you bring true peace..." said Drakzen, finishing his speech and rushing to the side of the black lion’s corpse.
My group and I watched attentively, expecting him to cast some sort of surprise attack on us. However, all he did was take out a small vial from the pocket in his robe.
When I noticed it was the same black vial he used to absorb Minotaur’s body in Guanghua, my eyes widened, and I tried to rush towards him to stop him. Nonetheless, it was useless.
Right when he opened the cork of the obsidian vial, the black lightning lion’s corpse started to get shredded as all of its blood was extracted, floating inside the vial until the corpse was turned to dust.
