Chapter 155: Wang Yun, Please Spare My Life!
Emotionally, Liang Long felt that Wang Yun posed no threat to him, but logic screamed otherwise. He knew he had to hide, and the sooner, the better.
With this thought, he reached for the prayer beads on his desk, intending to leave his office.
“Mr. Liang, you have a package that requires your signature,” came a voice as the door to his office swung open.
A courier stepped in, holding a black plastic bag.
“Who let you in? Leave it at the reception desk,” Liang Long scolded, furrowing his brows.
The young woman they hired for the front desk was proving to be incompetent. If not for her looks, he wouldn’t have placed such a decorative piece at the entrance, merely for appearances. She was always away from her desk, allowing couriers to wander into his office.
Wait a minute!
Something wasn’t right. How did the courier know his office location?
Couriers had never been allowed past the company’s public areas before. All deliveries were supposed to be left at the front desk.
Moreover, Liang Long had rented the entire thirty-fifth floor for himself. Unless it was for an essential inspection, like fire safety, nobody else would come up here. The sight of the courier suddenly made Liang Long’s face go pale with shock.
“Alright, just leave it on the desk,” he said, attempting to maintain his composure while his hand discreetly moved toward his waist.
At this moment, only the IT personnel were working in the office. His other subordinates were stationed at their respective locations. Liang Long was only there because of the abrupt developments that day. He had tasked the IT staff with investigating the situation of his captured members.
So, he had come here, believing even if Wang Yun sought revenge, it wouldn’t be so quickly on the same day. But now, he realized his error.
Wang Yun observed every move as Liang Long reached toward his waist.
“Alright, I’ll just leave this here,” Wang Yun said nonchalantly, placing the package on the desk.
In the next instant, as he stood up, he executed a swift turn with a horse stance, his body suddenly spinning around. Instantly, his hands grabbed Liang Long’s right hand, which was halfway to drawing his gun.
With a forceful twist from Wang Yun, accompanied by a painful roar from Liang Long, his wrist was dislocated in an instant.
As the gun fell and was about to hit the ground, Wang Yun flicked it up with the tip of his foot, catching it accurately on the back of his foot.
With another swift move, Wang Yun flicked the gun back into his hands as if by magic.
Click-Clack!
At that moment, the sound of bustling footsteps came from outside, along with the voices of several men.
On the thirty-fifth floor of the Dragon Wind Building, while outwardly they claimed to be an electronic information company, their actual dealings involved murder and plunder.
“Why did Brother Long urgently call us here, is there a big mission?”
“Does a big shot want us all to mobilize? This sounds like a significant task!”
“It’s been a while since we all worked together. I’ve been eagerly anticipating this the whole way here.”
“Let’s make it clear, if there is indeed a task, we two should be together. Our teamwork is absolutely flawless!”
The god-level hearing allowed Wang Yun to distinctly hear these footsteps. Fifteen people, not one less.
The glass of Liang Long’s office was one-way, providing a clear view from the inside.
To an observer, these individuals appeared ordinary. If there was anything that set them apart from ordinary people, it would be their eyes and aura. Each bore a gaze filled with bloodthirstiness and fierceness. Their presence was menacing, betraying a sinister brutality.
“Brother Long.”
Suddenly, a deep voice echoed.
Thud! Thud!
With two knocks, the office door swung open.
“Brother Long, what’s so urgent that you called us here? And who is this?”
The first to enter was a middle-aged assassin, who, based on appearance, seemed rather straightforward and honest. Before he could finish his question, he was shocked to see another person standing beside their leader.
This individual, with just his derisive gaze, caused the leader’s heart to tremble.
Wang Yun didn’t answer his question, but instead slowly raised the gun from Liang Long’s waist to his head once more.
“He is Wang Yun. Why have you all come? Brother, please spare my life!”
At that moment, Liang Long was nearly crying, humiliated, and panicked as his own men saw him at gunpoint. His emotions were a mix of frustration and shame.
